SHIFT 1

During our in-campus journey, I faced significant challenges with time management, which often shook my confidence as I struggled to cope with a new and demanding schedule. However, this challenging period was made much easier with the unwavering support and guidance from the teachers at the Elementary School Laboratory, as well as my supervising instructor, Mr. Khenee Lee Yecyec. Through their encouragement and mentorship, I was able to navigate these difficulties more smoothly.

Additionally, I learned invaluable lessons during my teaching practices, particularly in discovering and implementing effective strategies to enhance my studies. This experience has not only strengthened my abilities as an educator but also reaffirmed my commitment to continually improving and adapting in the field of education.

SHIFT 2

Reflecting on my experiences as a practice teacher in a Grade 1 classroom, I have gained valuable insights that have shaped my approach to teaching. One key lesson I learned is the importance of providing instructional materials that are large enough for all students to see clearly. This ensures that every learner can engage fully with the content, which is crucial for their understanding and retention.

During my time in the classroom, I noticed that when materials were too small or not visible to everyone, students quickly lost interest or became frustrated. By using larger visuals and ensuring they were accessible to all, I saw a significant improvement in their attention and participation. This approach also helps cater to different learning styles, as visual aids are particularly beneficial for young learners who are still developing their reading skills.

Moreover, using adequately sized materials fosters inclusivity, making sure that no student feels left out or disadvantaged. It creates a more dynamic and interactive learning environment, where students feel confident and eager to participate. This experience has reinforced my belief in the importance of thoughtful preparation and adaptability in teaching, ensuring that every student has the opportunity to succeed.
